All Phase Linear 400 Series I and II Power Amplifiers are now over 30 years old and need a Restoration to ensure that they they keep running reliably for the next 30+ years. Here is an opportunity to get your PL 400 restored and repaired before it stops working.

If your Phase Linear 400 is defective, we will perform ALL required repairs for NO additional Labor charge i. If parts not covered by this service need replacement, you just pay for the cost of the parts and there is no additional labor charge. This is a Weekend hobby and the work is done meticulously. Here is the list of work performed in this service. All Electrolytic Capacitors in the Main Audio Board(s) are replaced with new audio grade Capacitors.

All Power Output Transistors are re-seated to get a good Heat Sink contact. Defective Power transistors are also replaced. Two new high quality IC Sockets are installed and both OPAMP IC's are replaced with (better spec) units. All signal Diodes are replaced with new diodes. Any defective transistors are replaced with new and better quality transistors. All Bulbs can be replaced with White or Blue LED's and all Self threading screws replaced with Machine screws upon request for free! Phase Linear Service Bulletin repairs are performed e.

Replacing MPS5172 and 2N5401 transistors with recommended (more reliable) replacements. Key Power Resistors are replaced if they have varied off specifications.

Each unit is analyzed and tested in detail. The unit is cleaned with a soft brush inside and outside. Altogether over 35 components are replaced in your Phase Linear 400 Series I or II unit using only audio grade components. We have restored dozens of PL400 units over the years.

How many restoration shops have videos of their work? We have not seen any so far, other than ours. We perform these restorations as a hobby and the work is done ethically.

Note that this not just a repair service, but a complete internal restoration to make your unit work well for another 30+ years. If you would like the large Power capacitors replaced too, please ask for a quote. All Parts used in our Repairs and Restorations are Audio grade components sourced from reputable suppliers. We no longer restore or repair Phase Linear 4000 preamplifier units due to lack of reliable sellers of the OPAMP IC's used in this unit.
